The recent wet weather in Melbourne brought flash flooding to many areas around the city. As the house was still not weatherproof or water tight, the site was virtually inundated. Pole Relocation
Tuesday was a day of significant milestone and achievement.
We finally had the power pole in the front of our house relocated! It was a massive operation over six hours, consisting of a crew of 12 people + Jase.
The trucks arrived on site early in the morning
This is the BEFORE shot with the pole smack bang in the middle.
Do you see the men - they started digging with shovels!
Disconnecting the power to the existing pole
The arrival of the new pole along with the mobile crane and drill...
Dig...dig...dig... Drill...drill...drill...
And dig...and drill...
Craning the new pole into position
Setting the new pole in
Changing over the services including the lighting and Optus services
Moved!

5 STAR Insulation!
Bags of insulation
The furring channels have been installed and fixed to the walls now!
It's good to see the furring channels in...
Insulation has also been put in
In fact, loads of insulation jammed into the internal and external walls
It's a very well insulated house!
The funny thing is, the builder has actually stuffed all the insulation into the walls, but the services have not even been roughed-in yet....The sequencing just seems all out of wack. Oh well...

After work drinks
We took an esky with beer and wine, cheese and crackers, and went to our construction site for afterwork drinks.
Jase is excited about the big bi-folds
