Installation of the roller door

Another milestone for the backyard - finally the temporary chain wire fence is replaced by a secure roller door! We finally feel that our house is "secure" and no one can see into our backyard from the rear laneway!   The roller door is massive...and so is the canopy!  At least this will enable us to park our car in the backyard if we wish to...

The roller drum arrives...

and is lifted into place...

Then here comes the canopy...

and up it goes....

yup, it's big...

Note the door has a "reversed" colour, ie, the colorbond colour is actually on the face of the door that is  facing inside...

The beautiful lacework

The front verandah received its final touches today, so the front facade is officially complete!  The pretty lacework ("clover pattern", powdercoated charcoal to match our window frames) was installed.  It is now a perfect facade!

The front fence and letterbox is also completed now.

Carpet!

Our "black magic" carpet was installed today...

The underlay was THICK!

Very pleased with the results!

Backyard Paving

The crates of bluestone paving have arrived...

Starting from the corner....

These bluestone tiles are carefully being laid in a staggered pattern

Half the backyard is done....

Backyard progresses...

The timber bench seat and BBQ area slowly taking shape...

Slatted timber to the shed has also been put in.

Joinery is completed with the timber cladding.

The Backyard Project

Now that the front is on its way, the backyard needs a little lovin' as well....

And so, the backyard project begins...

Ramon, our carpenter, starts to build the little shed (see the framing in the background to the right)

Jason's painted the cladding to the shed.

Painting the front facade

Our painters carefully restored and painted the existing front facade to get it back to its former glory....

They are spraying the first coat under those tarps....

New roof sheets and gutters have also been put onto the verandah...

The next step....painting the picket fence, and also putting in the verandah lacework!
